Terms and Conditions

Any use by you of our website is conditional on your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Statement. We may change these Terms and Conditions without letting you know and therefore it is up to you to check this page for any changes. Your use of our website means that you have accepted these Terms and Conditions and the Privacy statement.

You must be over 18 years old to buy goods from this site. If you are under 18, you can only use this site with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

 

Data Protection

We comply with all of the applicable data protection laws in the UK. All customer details are kept strictly confidential and all information is encrypted. No customer details are passed on to any third party and credit/debit card details are not saved on our database.

The only information we collect is necessary for the processing /verifying of your order and delivery of your goods- this includes name, address, phone numbers, fax numbers and e mail addresses.

Prices

Prices are in £ sterling and include VAT at the current UK rate but do not include postage and packing which will be added at the checkout. We reserve the right to alter prices at any time.

All payments made online by credit and debit cards will be processed by our secure third party gateway - SagePay. SagePay uses 3D Secure as an additional security layer in making online payments. SagePay's security policy can be seen here: http://www.sagepay.com/security_policy

 

Packaging

All orders are packaged appropriately and in accordance with industry standards for food transportation using Sorba-Freeze refrigerant pads together with insulated chill boxes, which keeps contents at 0 degrees celcius for upto 48 hours.

 

Delivery

All goods are offered subject to availability. If an item is out of stock there may be a delay in delivery. You will be informed by email or phone if this ocurrs and given the choice of cancelling your order or accepting the delay.

Items in stock are dispatched within 1-3 working days. You will be sent an automatic order confirmation email upon placing your order. You will also receive an automatic email when your order is dispatched.

We will notify you of the expected date of delivery and do our best to deliver the goods to you by that date to the address that you specify for delivery. If you do not supply an address, we will deliver the goods to the credit card address you provide us with. Please take care when entering your details as we cannot accept liability for non delivery of items as a result of incorrect information entered by yourself. In the event that you are not available to receive the goods at the point when they were delivered, you will be responsible for making arrangements to receive the goods if they are held at the delivery company's depot.

Cockburn's Butchers will only accept orders from and delivery to addresses within the United Kingdom.

We use ParcelForce to deliver orders. Delivery rates are currently £4.50 for orders weighing up to 30kg.

 

Damaged or Defective Goods

If you receive an item that is damaged or defective, we will either replace the goods free of charge or, at our sole discretion, refund to you the price of the goods (or a proportionate part of the price). We do not require you return the goods. We would appreciate a photograph of the faulty/damaged goods, or , if you live locally, to bring them into the shop.

 

Returns Policy

Under the United Kingdom's Distance Selling Regulations you have the right to cancel your order. To do so you must inform us in writing within 7 days from the day after receipt of your order, either by post or email. Returning any item within 7 days will also be taken as notice of cancellation of your order (or part of your order). Please quote your order number on all correspondence. Goods are provided to you on approval and legal title to the goods will not pass to you until the 7 days post-delivery period has expired. On receipt of the goods, Cockburn's Butchers will give you a full refund of the amount paid or an exchange/credit as required.
